Hey guys im new to posting on the thread. I applied in late february and was verified complete mid march. Today I got an email with an invite to interview for either of these dates: May 3, 8, 10, or 15. I believe I will be interviewing on the 10 of May. I am from Miami, I have a BS in Bio and a Master of Public Health. GPA undergrad 3.2 and Grad GPA 3.9. I took some medical school courses at Indiana University School of Medicine and my GPA with MS1 class was 3.4. Im an older non-traditional student of hispanic background and lots of health care experience. If anyone is interviewing May 10 let me know. Im gona book my flight and make arrangements for my stay and possibly rent a car. Good luck to you guys who are still waiting and no matter, please don't give up! God bless

Hey guys, I'm new to the thread and received the interview request as well! I'm looking at May 15th for my interview, but may do the 10th. Anyone interested in booking accommodations together for the night before??

I'm interviewing May 3rd. Good luck to everyone! Very excited about this.

Good luck to everyone who has an interview. I interviewed in April so now its just the waiting game.

Congrats to everyone who got an interview!

They seem to be having issues with my LORs. Does anyone know whether materials should arrive before the deadline or postmarked before the deadline?

Let me know and good luck to all!

This is a silly question, but: what campus are dpms classes held?

Interviewing this Thursday. Any tips from anyone who has already visited? Thanks!

Does anyone know if they are still sending interview invites? Should I just call?

I called and they said they're still reviewing and sending interview invites. In the meantime, all we can do is remain optimistic!

You should definitely call. I've called in a few times this week but Ms. Hill, it seems, is almost always out of her office.

Good luck!

hi everyone!!!!!

I'm a current DPMSer.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up, (more like some hope) there were 6 applicants who interviewed on the LAST day and made it to the program this year, which means don't lose hope!!! please!! lol (and i believe interviews run till the very end of may)

And please stop harassing the office lol the only reason you should call the office is to ask if your application is complete. Mrs. Hill does not have any say if you get an interview or not.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Best of luck!!!

Can you tell us what a typical day in the program looks like? What was the group like last year ie competitive or cohesive? What are the chances of getting accepted once you receive the interview invitation? How difficult was it to maintain the 3.0? Is there any advising or mentoring?

- umm at most like 4 maybe 5 hours of class a day. the med classes are streamed from queen lane med campus, the grad classes are two days a wweek for 2 hours.

- we consider ourselves a family, we are not competitive, we help each other out- please realize that once you're accepted, you are not competing against each other, you are just trying to beat the med school average to make sure you get a 3.0 for the semester. you already have a seat at the med school, you are just trying to keep it.

-no one knows the chances of getting accepted except the admissions committee.

- if you are willing to work your butt off, a 3.0 is completely doable.

- there is a little-big brother/sister programs, current DPMSer with a former DPMSer. they help you out/ advise you whenever you need them. there is also free tutoring for every subject.

I just got my interview invite and i'm so excited. I will be interviewing on Thursday May 17

just got the interview invite today! need to pick a date

Got an interview invite yesterday!! I'll be going the 23rd of May!

Anyone have any advice for the interview they want to share or how they felt about it?

how are the interview invitations sent out? by email or by phone? #stillwaiting

Congrats to all who have received invites. Anyone going May 16th?

They are sent through email.

For everybody that has not received an invite yet, I emailed Dr. Walker and she told me all invites have been giving out and they are still conducting interviews but I will get an application update next week latest.

No very positive email.

thanks for ruining my weekend buddy.

Last year's thread shows people getting interview invites all the way into late May. And it doesn't seem fair to not review applications that were complete by the deadline and not offer them an interview if there's potential and they're legitimately good candidates. Idk but I'm thinking they have to be still sending out invites.

If the last interview date is May 23 then I think they will still send out invites up until ab a week before. So much for getting a decision memorial day weekend... *Sigh*

Yea, don't know where else everyone has applied, but it's difficult to hear back about the DPMS decision so late when other programs are already sending out acceptances and expecting a response soon.

thanks for ruining my weekend buddy.

Sorry about that mate. However, she did tell me that in a week they would give out application updates. They could potentially be holding applications in case they feel that they need to invite a few last minute. We will see. Lets hope

Question: For those who already interviewed, was there an ethical essay? Because I was reading the interview feedback and I wanted to know if that was just for the actual medical school interviews or also for dpms interviews since this would be our med school interview to Drexel! Thanks!
