I was just wondering if I should include some sort of explination with my application to explain a drop in GPA for 2 of my past semester.

Second semester of my freshman year, I went from a 3.7 (1st semester) to a 3.3 (spring semester) because I didn't like the school I was attending and was just not motivated to do *really* well.

Then fall semester of junior year, I went from a 3.8 (last year cum) to a 3.3 because I took too many science classes and was sick off and on over the course of the semester.

Should I adress this anywhere in my application? Or should I just leave it as is?

Thanks for any advice. 😳

your fine

not that important, but you migth get asked during your interviews why your GPA dropped. They can ask some pretty anal stuff about classes, at one interview my interviewer had my transcript and asked me why I took a bunch of dances classes in lieu of gen chem and bio labs.

I wouldn't consider your gpa fluxuations worth adressing in your application. I would spend time focusing on your major strengths, instead of nit-picking your minor weaknesses.

I've had worse semesters than that and I never addressed them, and was never asked about them either. 👍

You could mention reasoning for your drop in grades, just be careful not to make sure you don't make yourself look bad in the process.

I had similar issues. Do not mention it anywhere!! You might just be setting yourself up for trouble. I was asked about it during two interviews. My advice in that situation would be to try and not sound like you're "making excuses." Unless you were legitimately sick. I personally think it looks weak when you're like: "oh, it was a poorly organized class." Don't worry about it and good luck! 😀

i say do not mention anything about it. if they start wondering let them ask you during the interview. and then you will come out with an explanation that you were overworked blah blah. but make sure your answer is simple and sweet and not an excuse but show you learned something from it.

peace.
