I was enrolled in a BS/MS program and was able to finish half of my MS before graduating with my BS. I am applying for med school and would hopefully start in the fall of 14 but I am unsure if I will be able to finish my masters by then. I will likely be able to finish it by then and if not I should only have minor work on my thesis that I could finish during med school.
I have noticed that many schools require proof of completion of current graduate degree before matriculating. I have been accepted to the MS program but the only classes I've completed were during my undergrad. If I were to drop the MS now would there be any problems.

they only want you to finish any degree program you're enrolled in at the time of acceptance, so if you're going to drop the MS, I doubt they'd care. I'm sure they'd ask why you dropped it, though.

it's been my experience that you don't have to have a graduate degree completed by matriculation, but it should be completed before graduation from med school. If you think you can finish it while in med school, why not keep going with it?

If that is the case I would like to go for it and worst case scenario I would finish it during my first year. I just don't want to risk losing my acceptance because I haven't quite finished my masters.
