So I just got back my midterm paper for my Asian-American Lit class this week. It's worth 40% of my grade, and I got a flat B-. The remaining part of my grade is based on my final (40%) and attendance/participation (20%), both of which I expect to receive similar scores.
There's a possibility that I might do better or worse, so my final grade can range from a C+ to a B.
My current cGPA is a 3.835, and assuming I keep the class, it will drop to a 3.8 or lower. However, if I drop the class (with a W), my cGPA will likely rise above a 3.85. Also, if my grade drops below a 3.8 this quarter, I will no longer be eligible for my college's honor society, which conducts their reviews at the end of this quarter.
I don't plan on retaking the course after I drop it, but instead, will take another class in the Literature department. I'm taking this mainly to fulfill the English/Expository Writing requirement at some medical schools.
