Hey SDN, I just have a couple questions concerning high school dual enrollment and its effect on dental school. I'm from rural Appalachia, so in high school we weren't offered IB or AP, and dual enrollment through the local community college was the only "advanced" thing available. I just wanted to know how dental schools look upon dual enrollment credit. The classes that matter from my dual enrollment are 2 semesters of English, 2 semesters of Calculus, and 2 semesters of Anatomy & Physiology (combined class). Just wanted an outside opinion on how these might impact my dental school chances. Also, I know that AADSAS app requires you to send transcripts from all colleges attended. Does this mean I will have to send transcripts from that community college, even though the courses I took were high school DE and have already been transferred and counted at my undergrad? Thanks in advance!

Don't worry, you'll be fine. I dual enrolled as well, and I've been told it won't be a problem when it comes time to apply. I think there are 7 schools out of the 56 that say they won't take CC credits for pre reqs. Even then they still make exceptions. You should be fine.

Ok thanks! Which 7 schools are those by the way? And do you know if we have to request a transcript from the CC the dual enrollment is through?

That's fine. Those prereqs aren't as important as the others anyway. You have to send the transcript in because you received college credit for those courses (plus you want them to count as prereqs, right?)

I did Dual enrollment and had no problems with my application process, just to give you some more peace of mind.

I know Tufts is one of them, but I can't remember the others off the top of my head. When you visit their requirements page it'll say in bold letters if they accept CC credits or not.
