I have a general question to the SDN community.
If you have a program lets say in IM, that has dual accreditation then if you do that residency:
1) do you get the same level of "respect" when you finish that program compared to the MD doctors that finish that program with you.
2) do you have equal chances for fellowships
3) what is the difference long term if you get the aoa route for a residency compared to ACGME route if it is a dual accreditation.
my thoughts are that if you do dual program that you get the 'allopathic' level of training and have equal shots for fellowships and positions. Interested in knowing what you all think out there.
