Okay so I have an interview tomorrow with the health sciences committee at my school and I was reviewing my AACOMAS application.

I've read my personal statement like 20 times along with 8 other people. i was perfectly happy with it.

Until last night... I read it and realized i used the terminology "medical doctor" WTF???.... I never realized this slip. I meant to say something like, " I decided to become a doctor who practices medicine..." I did'nt acutally mean a medical doctor. In fact, I even wrote separate essays for AMCAS and talked alot about osteopathic medicine in my AACOMAS personal statement.

Jesus.... I'm feeling really ******ed right now and hope people on the Adcoms at the schools don't think I'm a copy and pasting *****!!

Any advice? I can't do much about it.. it's obviously not a huge deal as I missed it the first 20 times along with 8 other people who know a hell of a lot about osteopathic medicine. I just feel like an idiot.. who says that?? Is it that bad??

I'm totally friekin out here!! 😱 😱 😱 🙁 🙁 🙁

20 people missed it. You can probably add the adcoms to that list. No biggy; you are going to be a medical doctor of osteopathy.

Don't feel bad. I sent an application to PCOM calling it "Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Med.(in bold letters) Hahahahahahaha. Coincidently this was the only school I didn't get an interview at. Don't sweat it.

I think it's such a small thing.. you're worried that they're going to think "he says he wants to be a MD not a DO in his AACOMAS ps?"

Medical doctor is a general term. I would be more worried if you used "allopathic medical doctor" on your AACOMAS ps.

stop freaking out man!!! don't get over worked for nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just because you said medical doctor, it could mean osteopathic medical doctor just as well. If they ask you about it at your interview, just say you meant osteopathic medical doctor and you should be fine.

Thanks guys..
I've successfully downed a chill pill (should have chased it with a bottle of tequila ha ha) anyway.. i'm over it....

whew..

Let us know how your comittee interview goes!

hope all is well with the interview!! 👍 👍

The interview went well.. it was 2.5 hours!! Yikes.. but really good feedback and I had so much more passion talking about osteo vs. allo. IT was a good way to practice for tough questions etc. This lady who interviewed me came up with arguments for everything I said.. I definitely had sweat marks afterwards, but it was okay.. definitely a learning experience.... however I think she was really happy with my knowledge about osteopathic medicine.

Thanks guys for the support...

Hopefully the schools will start giving me a ring-aling on interviews!

lol. At least you got some practice. Glad it went well for you!

I'm going to be sweating like a madman during interviews.
