this is a dumb question but i'm confused now...If a chromosome consists of 2 sister chromatids joined by a centromere. How many chromatids does an egg contain? I found a similar question in Destroyer #273 and I was like ok this is easy lol and I got it wrong,......For what I know it has 23 chromosomes and 46 chromatids,,,but the answer says that it has 23 chromatids as well 😱

The chromatids aren't duplicated in a haploid egg (or sperm). It is only during the S phase of interphase through to the end of metaphase that a chromosome exists as sister chromatids. Once anaphase begins, chromosome # = chromatid # until S phase of interphase begins again.
