1) Is only one transcript required to AMCAS? What about to individual schools?

2) Are most secondaries electronic? Can you submit them electronically? (i'll be outta da US til sept 1)

1) One transcript from each college/university you attended needs to be sent to AMCAS (even if it was summer school at a JC). The individual schools won't ask you for a transcript until you've been accepted and plan to matriculate there.

2) Some were electronic and some were not (I had to mail Georgetown, George Washington, Drexel, and SLU, I believe, and some others). Maybe you can have someone check your mailbox once a week?

AMCAS requires only one transcript be sent to their office in DC. As for the individual schools, the issue of transcripts vary from school to school, I know for sure that AMCAS will send an Electronic copy of your transcript along with your application to the schools you designate. If you are accepted at a school, you may need to send an official transcript to the school (This varies from school to school, Creighton requires that accepted students only send official transripts before classes begin.) Just send one transcript to AMCAS and the schools you designated will request one if they need it.

Again varies from school to school...the secondaries I filled out were hard copy. I know some schools that have electronic secondaries though...like Washighton Univ. St. Louis (may have changed )

If the summer school classes that I have taken at schools other than UCLA show up on my UCLA transcript, will sending only my UCLA transcript suffice? (Wow, that sounds redundant.)

No. You need an actual transcript from the school you took the classes at, even if they are on your UCLA transcript.
