I'm applying to medical school this cycle while on a gap year.
I've been working as a full-time lab technician (35-50 hours per week) and I barely have time to do anything else. On my AMCAS and secondaries I mentioned that I would try to continue with a few of the EC's I did back in college like tutoring and some hobbies. But when I come home, I'm just too exhausted to do anything. I try to keep my weekends free to retain some sanity (although I need to come in to lab sometimes on the weekend too)
Do adcoms expect applicants to still do other EC's while working a full-time job? Does it look bad if I don't do anything else (like when discussing my current plans during interviews) ?
