hey guys, so i'm looking for more feedback about this issue..

i'd like to e-submit by the second week of june, but i'm also planning on taking the DAT in mid july.

is it worth it to send the app with my current scores and then notify schools that i retook the DAT at the end of july? (as opposed to indicating that i'm retaking from the get-go)

This is what an applicant from this cycle told me...If you have a previous DAT score on file and you submit your app BEFORE you re-take your DAT and allow for your new scores to be sent to schools, then there is a likely chance that schools will review your file without knowing that you have another DAT score on the way. If your older DAT score isn't that great, then this could be risky.

She retook her DAT in August and submitted her application then.

Here is what will happen:

Most schools will put your application on hold and wait for the new DAT. When your new DAT comes in, you have to send an email to them and tell them to send your app to the adcoms.
Some schools will use your current DAT and judge you based on the old DAT.

Its your call.
