I'm just browsing through EK and there is almost no Elimination reaction study material. Is that not very important for the MCAT, too easy, or not on the MCAT at all?
RayhanS1282 said:Yeah, alkenes (I'm sad to say) is no longer part of the MCAT. Neither are aromatics. Forget all the ortho-, para-, and markovnikov stuff you learned.
Psycho Doctor said:WHAT??? NO organic chem???? I postponed taking the MCAT from April until August b/c I didn't have an organic chem class yet. You mean I could have taken it then??? I'm now enrolled in a summer course on it and am struggling to study for that at the same time as study for the MCAT!!?? And I thought that was going to help me and i know organic chem...i am so screwed and to think i could have been done, be working on my apps and be having a fun summer. 🙁

Also, Just curious where you are getting this info from. Is it based on April's MCAT, or is it part of the list if items to know, which is listed on the AAMC website?
GBFKicks said:It's based on the list by AAMC. However, like I said, I can't believe there not being any alkenes at all on the test, so I studied the stuff. I think technically, you wouldn't have to know about reactions involving alkenes---I think that's what AAMC means.
