It seems it's general consensus that the earlier interview is always better.
Does it mean that if your interview is scheduled on November, you have less chance compared to if you had it on September or October?

Columbia already have sent out the first round of invites and the interview spots are already filled beyond mid-October (possibly more). And, looking at previous year's official interview/acceptance thread, Columbia doesn't send out the second round of interview invites until mid-september. So, if you get an interview invitation in mid-september (at the earliest), you will probably able to schedule for interview only in November, which makes me sad 🙁

Statistically, is the interview carried in November has less chance of acceptance than one in September and October?

I am a little confused since someone mentioned that at the end of november before Dec 1, the admission committee reviews all files of interviewees in Sep, Oct, and Nov, and send out acceptance from top to bottom (according to their interview score+other stats and etc). If this is correct, I won't see why september interview is more advantageous than november one. Or, do they just accept(permanently make the decision on) the students who interviewed in September and October even prior to November Interviews?

Thanks.

That is what I think too. I think as long as you interview Dec 1st, you are fine. I don't think interviewing sept is better then nov. I actually think later is better because you are still fresh in their mind.

It's not necessarily always when you interview, but when you're invited. For Columbia specifically, I can tell you that the admissions director did say that the majority of us would be accepted before we left. Whether or not she really meant that or meant anything close to that, more than half the people from my date did are attending. We were interviewed in October, but many of us got our invite in August. But really, if you interview before December 1, I don't think you don't need to worry about anything.

no.. i don't think that is true. one of my friends didn't get her first interviews until october/november and she got into a buttload of schools.
