egh... yeah right. Why do they have to torture everyone??? Don't they realize that the world has moved on to ROLLING ADMISSIONS for crying out loud!!! I'll never last till March. I should have just done the early decision thing.

Heh, yeah, it's so weird having to wait 4 months for a response. And apparently, like most non-rolling schools, they do make decisions relatively soon after your interview. Our fates have been decided... we just won't know until March.

No they don't, they give you a score and at the end, they compare your score with others to decide acceptance

Oops, thanks for the correction.

University of Hawaii does that, too...in May.

Does anybody know in average how long we will be waiting until we hear something from Duke? I sent my secondary on Oct 21st but by letters were sent on Nov 15th, but I've heard that sometimes they process your app even if they dont have your letters yet. Does anybody know, for those who got interviews, how long does it take for them to notify you? Can I assume I got a big fat rejection? Thanks!

I sent my application in on 28 Oct and have heard nothing. I called the admissions office about a missing letter and was informed that all files containing two or more letters are considered complete and are therefore submitted for review.

Has anyone who failed to submit a secondary within two weeks of receiving it been granted an interview? I did not submit mine for five weeks because I wanted to receive my MCAT score before potentially wasting $80. Duke's stats are, after all, a bit on the high end. Nevertheless, I read elsewhere on SDN that Duke STRONGLY recommends that the application be submitted within the suggested time so that applicants demonstrate Duke's 'priority' relative to other schools. I hope they provide for extenuating circumstances with respect to the recommended submission period.

From Duke's website: "We anticipate the conclusion of the screening process for those applicants who met the deadlines to take place between December 20th and December 23rd." Looks like those of us who haven't heard anything will hear something in the next month or so. I submitted Oct. 5 and still no word.
