hey does anyone here have experience with appkying early as in early decision to medical school (one that limits you to one?)

i know pros are less cost of appyling, and its good for people who are sure of one main choice and cons are if you dont get in you are late in appyling to other schools...

is there anything else I should know?

They only take highly qualified applicants. If you're average don't bother.

Yea you need to make sure your application is excellent, and if you know the school you're applying to, it may be helpful to get advice from successful early decision applicants to that school. Maybe you could try posting in the school specific forum.

Out of curiosity (it's too late for me), which schools even offer early admission? I didn't even know that was a thing.

hey y'all

you say you have to be a high acheiving applicant right? so thats in regard to the school you're applying to..i.e. lets say you apply to merharry (think thats how you spell it) their average is 3.2 so if you have >3.2 are you set? (assuming you are also above their gpa)

this is just an example, say you apply to harvard whose average is a 3.8, if you ae >3.8 are you set? or does it not work like this?

You want to be above average for the gpa, mcat, have substantial ECs, a well written PS, and strong LoRs. Basically if you're a good enough applicant to be accepted to a med school early, then you're a good enough applicant to be accepted through the regular cycle as well.
