Early Assurane for Upstate?

I'm interested in applying early assurance for Upstate next year...has anyone else done this this year or in previous years? And, if so, would you mind sharing your input on how much weight they put on one's SATs? I hear next year they are really raising the standards for the SATs - of course, however, this is merely for the early assurance prog.
