Just curious...generally, when does the early career window end? I'm coming up on being licensed for 5 years this October, and it's really weird to me that I may not be considered early career at some point close in time. (to be fair, I still think...and act...as if I'm effectively 23 at times, so this response of mine isn't circumscribed solely to my career).

APA uses 10 years post-PhD as the cut off, FWIW.

10 years is the most common that I have seen. Ironically, I have often felt the opposite and really did not feel early career after year 3 post-license. That may be more due to my career trajectory.

At NIH, you are "early stage" until 10 years past post-doc as long as you don't have an R0🙂 So you can feel young for many years to come!
