I recently applied early decision to a school in AZ. I submitted my application two days prior to the PTCAS ED deadline. Does anyone know if PTCAS processes ED applications faster than someone who applied the same time as me, but not early decision? When I visited the school in July, they told me they would hold ED interviews around mid September. Most of their applicants are out of state, so I would assume they would let us know a couple weeks prior to the interview so that we can prepare travel plans. I was just wondering if anyone knew how fast PTCAS processed an ED application.

I applied ED also! To my knowledge, PTCAS processes all ED applications before regular applications... For example, I was told that if a regular app is submitted August 1 and an ED app was submitted August 10, the ED app submitted later would still be processed first even though it was submitted later...ED has priority over regular apps. Hope this helps and good luck 🙂

I would expect that to be true, but I emailed PTCAS on Monday and this is what they sent back:

"Good morning,

Thank you for contacting PTCAS. We only require that your application is
submitted by the early decision deadline, and processing times are the same for
early and regular decision. Please contact your school for information on what
your application status should be by this time."

This seems ridiculous to me considering the schools need to get the ED applications asap because of the deadline to make an admissions decision by.
