hey guys,

I plan on applying with early decision this summer at Rosalind Franklin university for its physical therapy program. Would this give me a better chance at attaining a seat rather than just applying early in the process?

My stats:

Cumm. GPA- 3.5
Pre-req GPA: 3.59 (including psychology, stats, other social behavior)
Science GPA: 3.35

Gre- have not taken as of yet

150 outpatient
30 home health aide

extra-curricular : Preseason Chicago Bears Athletic Training/ Physical therapist Intern

For basically every school, early decision helps your chances because it tells them you are 100% committed to that school and are attending there if accepted. PTCAS wont even let you apply anywhere else if you choose early decision( unless rejected then you can apply elsewhere) If you know for certain that you want to attend Rosalind, early decision will help your chances.

Rosalind Franklin and many others have a minimum requirement like a 3.5 science GPA. Is it still worth it to apply to that program as early decision even though they have this minimum requirement?

AP 191. I wouldn't recommend early decision if they require a 3.5 science GPA. Might as well just apply early so you reserve a chance at other instutitions.

As long as you meet the school's minimum requirements, early decision significantly increases your chances because of the different pools of applicants. e.g. You could be among 100 applications (early decision) for 30 spots vs. 500 applications (regular decision) for 10 final spots. Every school and year is a little bit different, so call the particular school for their current projections.
