I have read that applying early decision is only for the "most competitive applicants". That is definitely not me but I was wondering what some people thought about me applying early decision to a private school in my home state, who gave me an interview and still has me waitlisted. 10 9 8 MCAT FWIW.

you must have some incredible connections...

so much of the ED process is school specific that there's little that us SDN posters can help with.

best advice would be to contact your school's admin office, see if you can get a sit-down with a counselor, and ask them of your chances (my in-state school offered this). otherwise, i would say that if you're not within 1 standard dev of the school's numerical averages (GPA and MCAT), then it would be a waste of time and money (this is all heresay for me... i didn't apply to ED).

another thought: have you tried the "school selector" XLS? that can help you determine your chances in general with a school to help you think about ED.

Doesn't the MSAR show how many people got in ED at each school. Not many people get in through ED, and I think it only helps those with high stats who want an early notification of acceptance so they don't have to waste time with other schools.
