I am going to apply to University of Kentucky for this next years Early Decision cycle. Problem is, I also want to apply to other school, yet Pharmcas only lets you apply to one Early Decision school at once and then you have to wait until a decision is made. Will this set me behind in applying to other schools? My alternative list include UoCincinnati, Grundy, Mercer, and Samford. Just wondered if anyone had experience in this. Thanks in advance.

just be careful if the school has rolling admissions

I was admitted to Kentucky Early Decision this past fall (class of 2010).
For ED, you will have an answer (admitted or deferred) by November 1. If you are admitted, you agree to attend.

If you are deferred, you are then free to apply to as many other schools as you choose. You could still be admitted to UK at a later time.

You could apply to UK early decision and still be able to submit your application to other schools by the beginning of November. Only you can decide if that sets you too far behind.

UK does have rolling admissions, but that doesn't affect Early Decision applicants, since you are promised your ED answer no later than Nov. 1.

Another factor to consider is your competitiveness. Per the Dean of the UKCOP: getting in ED at Kentucky is extremely tough. If you have the stats, go for it! If you are a more marginal candidate, you might want to apply early to more schools. Only you can know for sure!
