As dental school nears (literally like 60 days away/June start) are you starting to get nervous? I was super stoked on December first, but knowing that I start in June has given me some anxiety. Don't get me wrong, this is going to be an amazing opportunity and if you think about it probably the last four years we'll ever be in a classroom setting, having to wake up early and go to class. However, it's just hard not to feel a little scared. Anyone else feeling this way? When does everyone else start dental school?

It's an exciting time for you. Don't be afraid, there's nothing to be afraid of. You're looking at 15-16 months until you start school.

Btw, what's your definition of "early?"

early as in before August. What do you mean by 15-16 months until I start school? I start this June.

I feel a little nervous. People hype D-school up so much that it's hard not to be.
I'm sure we will be fine though.
 
What school starts in June??
 
I am more stressed than I am nervous/anxious. I gotta leave the city I've been living in for the last 14 years. Also gotta find a new place to live, wife's gotta find a job in the area where school is.

I am sure it will take a little bit of time to adjust to this new setting. Hopefully 4 years will fly by.
 
Congrats on getting into what is arguably the best dental school in the country; consider yourself extremely privileged, there are people that would give anything to be in your shoes! You deserve this, you worked hard for this and they saw potential in you and that is why they chose YOU to be accepted as part of their class! Remind yourself of that whenever you feel anxious/nervous.

Right there with you, very excited to start school in August but we're moving from Michigan to Utah...still have to figure out exactly where we want to live. Feeling very lucky to have such a supportive boyfriend that's following me out there, but yes! Tons of things to do before school can start! Good luck!
 
It still has yet to hit me that I'm going to dental school. But I have less than 4 months for that to happen.
August 22 is first day for me.

Anytime you transition into something new, you're going to be uncomfortable--I am no exception.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt stresses me out. 8-5 schedule is a bit daunting, especially since most of us haven't had an academic schedule like that. And broadly, just the remaining aspects of becoming acclimated to life in dental school is intimidating.

We'll get used to it, but it will definitely be a shock to our system at first.

Also, I start August 1st!
