Hi guys,

I have just received the permit for January-Feb-March and I'm planning to book my exam in mid Jan.

I have a question to those that have personal experience in this matter: I was wondering how easy (in terms of bureaucracy) it is to change the date of the exam if needed eg from mid Jan to mid Feb.

Thanks a lot in advance!

It is very easy. Don't worry about it at all.

Thanks for the reply. Is it literally just go on the website and selct another date or do you have to pay extra? How many times can you reschedule?

Thanks again!

I do not think there is a limit to the number of times you can reschedule. It is only free if you do it 31 days or earlier. If not, you will have to pay a nominal fee. I am not exactly sure how much that is, but I'm sure someone would come along and provide you that info. Alternatively, you can call them: http://www.usmle.org/bulletin/applying-and-scheduling/#scheduling

http://www.usmle.org/frequently-asked-questions/

"If you change your appointment 31 or more days before (but not including) the first day of your scheduled test date, there is no fee.
If you change your appointment fewer than 31 days but more than 5 days before (but not including) the first day of your scheduled test date, there is a $50 fee.
If you change your appointment 5 or fewer days before (but not including) the first day of your scheduled test date, there is a higher fee. This fee varies by Prometric Testing Region and by exam."

The link above has a chart for various regions and the various exams. Hope that helped!
