Easiest/cheapest way to get a Statistics credit?

I'm a non-traditional applicant (25, got my B.S. in Physics a few years ago) and I've got a pre-match from Texas Tech El Paso (woohoo! still thinking UT San Antonio is my top choice, but El Paso is definitely my second choice). I just found out I have to get Bio Lab credit and Statistics credit. I'm planning to enroll in a Bio Lab credit at a local community college, but I'm wondering if I could take an online course from any college? Is there any reason I shouldn't try for something like university of phoenix online or something like that?

I know that texas schools don't like online courses (from online schools). I have asked about doing online biochem (because it will be tough for me to get a spot in that class), and Texas Tech Lubbock said it would not be accepted. Why not do the stats course at the CC along with your Bio lab? Also, some classes if taken from a brick and mortar school can actually be done online, because the same course is taught in class as well as an online course at that school (and there is no difference on the transcript). Whereas Uni of Phoenix is an online school...

Don't take it at an online uni like Phoenix. However, you should be OK taking a stats class online through a respected university or community college (that is, one with a long standing and respected in person program). There are lots of options put there.

I took my stats online through a community college and they just had you come in three times during the quarter for proctored exams.

Biology 390, stats for biology... class should be <$1000 doesn't not register as online

For $504, you can take an online BYU Independent Study Principles of Statistics class that is acceptable to Texas medical schools. You can complete the course in 2-3 months. You do not have to be LDS to apply, and you don't even have to be an accepted undergraduate student.

Agree you can do online class from a brick and mortar school, in most cases it won't show up as such.

Central Texas College has a stat's course that's online through their math department. It's cheap, around $350 and they have varying start dates. It's accredited too. I did mine online from there and it worked out great!!
