Hi,
I wanted to see if anyone had a list of the med schools (MD) that are easiest/ most likely for someone with less than stellar stats to get admitted to. PLEASE do not say try DO or another profession or go to the Carribean.

I am looking for schools to apply to that are not going to be a complete waste of time and money.
Thanks for your help!

You can try DO or go to the caribbean.

Really though, some lower tier schools are Drexel, Finch, and SLU. There are a lot more but really without the knowledge of your stats, we cannot give you a more accurate assessment. Realistically, if your gpa is below a 3.0 or your MCAT is 26 or below, your only chance is the caribbean or DO. 👍

I would agree that Drexel, Finch, Temple, and SLU are the schools most of my friends got interviews at. Give your stats and you'll probably get more advice. 🙂

harvard, john hopkins, or UCSF...

Yeah at my interviews for these schools they just took me out to lunch and said "see you in the Fall bro". 🙄

I feel kinda stupid asking this question, but what is the full name of SLU?

I believe it is Saint Louis University! 🙂

Funny thing is, SLU is actually a pretty good school.

Yeah, Temple, SLU and Drexel provided full expense paid interview for me and 5 of my closest friends

hmmm, i applied to all the chicago schools, and i actually got interviews and waitlist spots from rush and loyola, but never heard anything from finchy ....that's fishy... 😕

No school is actually easy. Apply all mid/low tier schools. 😀

Aside from the three mentioned, how does one identify the mid/low tier schools?

Not the USNews rankings, I hope?

the easiest and most realistic way is to look at avg entrants gpa/mcat

I demand my rejection letter from Finch! I collect them for morbid purposes.

:sigh: 🙁 ooooh . . but I only got into Temple. . These schools are still kinda selective . . 🙁

That's an easy way but not necessarily an accurate way. For example many people look at Drexel's ave numbers and say well I have that but they never get in or even an interview. If you look deep into Drexel's situation they have many linker programs such as their IMS program and they take several people from their IMS post-bac programs that have lower numbers which brings down the average. So if you're applying there with no special links to the school you should have better than their average to stand a better chance.
