I am a Louisiana resident and reapplicant- I was hoping to find out which state schools (besides louisiana of course) i have the best chance of getting into- i have a 26 mcat but plan to retake it in september or october and a 3.6 gpa

First of all, yay Louisiana.

Second, you're very lucky that you are a LA resident. Both LSU-NO and LSU-S accept only LA residents and are definitely your best bet. I think the average MCAT for those schools is around 29. Keep in mind that most, if not all, schools do not accept MCAT scores after September. Actually, there isn't another test after September 12th until January. If you are retaking, do it as soon as you can, because you don't want to delay your application anymore than necessary.

One of my relatives went to University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and got into University of Nebraska Medical Center COM with just a 3.3 GPA and 26MCAT with almost no volunteering or research.

Even if they weren't a resident GoSpursGo, we want to remind OP that you certainly do not want to bank on rare cases like this.
