which are the more difficult DO schools to get in based on gpa and MCATS? which are the easier Do schools based on gpa and MCATS? What do u recommend should be the minimum gpa and MCAT score one should have before applying to have a chance to get into a DO school? thanx for any insight.

That's really tough to say- look at the school's profile and look at what students they tend to accept. Usually most schools like people from their home state or who have a legacy, but some schools don't have geographical preference- they just want someone who knows osteopathic medicine by personal experience, studying/reading about osteopathic medicine or by shadowing a DO.

I wouldn't apply with an MCAT of less than 25 or a GPA of less than 3. That's just wasting money.

Another considerations: some schools place more emphasis on OMM than others so you will want to research that as well. I chose to go to a school with more emphasis on OMM so that I would be more confident in using the skills in real practice, but most people think that they won't use OMM so they choose to go to a school where there is less emphasis on OMM technique. If you're not comfortable with learning/using OMM, then don't apply to a DO school.
