Im trying to get my science gpa boosted up a little bit before next years application cycle. I already have a pretty full schedule next year (o-chem), so im looking for an easy class or two that counts toward your science gpa.

BCPM stands for

Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Math

find the cheese in your schools departments and collect your As.

i don't understand how coming on sdn will help. every individual school has BCPM classes that are more relaxed than others. you can't really find this out through sdn or at least i don't think so. Physio at your school may be easy while at others it may be hard. So some will say dont take it while at your school, students will say take it.

You could pad your GPA with plenty of 1XX level courses but I'm fairly sure the ADCOMS would notice.

Astronomy classes can be easy. Plus, they are really interesting. The one I took was for non-majors and meant for people who didn't study science. It was cake.

At my school, statistics is a 3000 level course, but tends to be pretty easy.

My school literally has a class called "The Chemistry of Wine." My friend took it though, thinking it would be cake. She got a C

I would suggest talking to some students at your school who are science majors. Ask them what the easiest science class they've taken is (preferably upper level). As someone above me said, Stats is sometimes an upper level class (it's 300 at my school also). Astronomy is a 100 level, but I think it would be okay. Maybe just show that you've explored multiple sciences.

intro environmental science

some colleges have classes like "einstein's life and impact on modern science" which are taught through the bio, chem, or physics departments. I'm not sure if these count, but they still have the BIO prefix before them. If they count, I'm sure they would be extremely easy ways to bring up your sgpa.

Most of these classes, in my experiences are under Anthropology, Philosophy, History, Comparative history of Ideas, etc.

Oh wow. That actually sounds really interesting!!

Trying to pad your GPA really is pretty stupid. I mean, I appreciate the effort, but adcoms do have access to your transcript. Unless they don't look at all at the courses you've taken, it's going to be pretty obvious that you took several "easy" BCPM courses and your GPA will be considered accordingly. Rather than diverting time from studying for your "real" courses, focus on doing as well as you can in the courses you still need to take.

Each school has its own... but my evolution biology was cake. I also know marine biology, ecology, and plant bio classes are also easy as well.

Statistics, psychbio, any bio class on evolution.

Yeesh, my biopsych class had a ton of neuroanatomy, as well as a boatload of memorization and fairly technical content. Just sayin', if you're into it just to boost your GPA, be careful.

Yeah I second this. I took both sequences of intro astronomy, i think the first one was called stars and the galaxy and the second was something like solar system, planets or universe forgot the exact name but both of them were very interesting, easy, and basic. They didn't require you to be a science major and AMCAS listed both classes as science classes when verifying my primary.

This. Take as many of the intro astronomy classes as possible...easy and interesting. They do start to get tougerh though at the higher levels, when it involves real science (astrophysics)

/hardcore mode on

Yes, it is reserved for your 30th year of undergrad, hah. No wonder it's so easy...

But seriously, I go to a pretty big university where they use 1000-4000 instead of 100-400 for whatever reason 🙂
