Over the last few years, I founded a nonprofit organization. We provide glasses to kids in Cambodia. In August we distributed 3500 pairs.

How much sway would something like this have in the application process?
Which schools would this appeal to?

I just don't want to place too much emphasis on it ya know?

This is something that gets you into the Ivy League.. Setting up a non profit organization is among the best things you can put on your extracurricular list. The real question is, what can I do to go about doing the same?

Haha thanks- it's a process! It took a lot of my time over the last few years but well worth it! Unfortunately the reason I asked is I have already been rejected from two schools but oh well- still a lot of secondaries out there.

Any chance you can re-take that MCAT and get to a 34+ ? That would make up for the 3.3 and give you a shot at the top 10/20 🙂

I can't imagine this won't appeal to every school you've applied to, and it might even compendate for a weakness or two among your other listed ECs seeing as it entails (at the minimum) both leadership and community service.
