Currently I'm keeping a journal of every EC, volunteer gig, leadership, job, etc. that I do in college (so writing my AMCAS later on next cycle won't be hard). However I am having a bit of trouble.
Last spring, I served on the Fundraising chair for a medical mission abroad committee (all student run, by the way). I went to every meeting, met with the committee president twice a week to discuss about fundraising, and got everything in order. Well, half way through, the head of the Fund. chair decided "F--- this, I'm gonna focus on studying for the MCAT" and made me the head of the Fund. chair. I raised over $1000 towards the end of the semester to help send ~12 people to Peru for 10 days and thus got to go for free (reimbursed my security deposit AND plane tickets). However, right before we left for Peru, the president released the list of execs on the committee next year. To my surprise, I was not on that list. At all. Not even on the Fund. chair. I called the president and she told me that the Vice President had it in for me because I dated her roommate and we broke up (which was bad). Said roommate now hates me and according to girl code, the VP hates me too. So I got stiffed out of a pretty good leadership position. I tried talking to the President to reconsider this but it was too late. The list was sent to nationals and it can't be brought up again until next spring.
My question is that, if I can't get back on the exec committee, should I even put it on my application? Medical schools love seeing consistency and right now I don't have any consistent leadership roles as of yet. Longest was last year when I was a Resident Assistant for freshmen, which I left for personal reasons.
