Hey everyone,

I am looking at going to Med School and I was just wondering what the best EC's would be to have on my resume and how many hours I would need for them. I am still early in the process and have time to add some EC's to my resume.

The few EC's that I already have (not sure if they help or not):
Division I Athlete - Men's Soccer
Charity - Meals for Heartland (Packing food) - 2010,2011. 2 times each year
Soccer clinics - Soccer South clinics for young children - 2010,2011
- 3 day soccer clinic for young kids with cerebral palsy 2010
Shadowing - Shadowed Orthopedic Group - 6 surgeries and clinic hours. In total around 50 hours.

Just looking for the best ways I could improve my EC's?

If I'm reading this correctly, you could definitely use more clinical experience and/or volunteering. The average applicant has about 1 year of volunteering experience. Some research or teaching experience would also be nice.

However, you may be able to do well without that because you are a Division 1 athlete - congrats!
