I tried to find a clear answer on this forum, but no. Maybe I can get some help...
I already have my diploma but need to complete my ECFMG certification. I want to get this completed before ERAS allows us to start applying to programs in Sept for Match 2010! Does anyone know what is the average timeframe between getting your passing step 2ck results 🙂 and receiving your ECFMG certification?

Have your medical education credentials been received by the ECFMG ? If not, you need to get in touch with your school to send it. Once it is received( and you have passed your exams), it will take ECFMG "6 wks" to certify you, assuming no roadblocks.

In general its 4-6 weeks depending on if your file is complete.

Its still about 4-6 weeks for you to get certified from that point especially if you are doing it a the end of the US academic year, when their volume is exceedingly high.

I passed the CS on 6th August last year , and got my ECFMG Certificate on 14th August i.e., after 8 days only.

Wow...although not unusual when you apply "off season" (although 8 days is faster than I thought it would be).

In general, during the "high season" (probably March-July), one can expect a month.

Not too bad. Some programs filter by ECFMG but every time they log back onto ERAS, if your status has changed, they now see your application and can download it. Also, it's not like the filtering system is this monolithic, unchanging beast. It's fluid, PDs can (and do) change what they filter by based on what they got out of the prior rounds.

On a separate note, just called ECFMG, they said certifications are issued within 10 buisness days once credentials are verified and the applicant passed the exams.
