I didn't realize that so many schools required the economics pre-requisite! I just signed up to take it in the spring while I apply for this cycle. Is that going to be a problem for me this year with getting admission while i'm taking it or can schools offer me conditional acceptance on passing my econ class. Also has anyone successfully substituted another class for the econ requirement?

My undergraduate degree required political economy instead of economics.

Were you able to get it substituted. My degree required any social science so I took an environmental ethics class 🙁

I have to take either micro or macro economics before summer.

It has been years since I have taken it but I took it summer semester and it was a fairly easy course. I took Micro. Maybe see if a local community college offers it online and if they have multiple start dates you can take it as a 'winter course'? We have a community college here in az (rio Salado) that has start dates every Monday. I am actually starting calc on 10/13.

Thanks! I've found an online class that starts in January.

check if your school accepts online courses for econ.
I am in the similar position, i took macroeconomics during my undergrad.
I need to take MICROecon just for some schools that do not accept macroecon 😛
