What kinds of ECs can be done by attending UC Berkeley Extension? So far I've come up with Stanford Hospital volunteering, tennis, and Biology research at Berkeley. The Extension classes are all afternoon to nighttime, so that leaves the day pretty much open to ECs and extra reading.
 
Berkeley free clinic (if you can get in, might be mostly for the undergrad students)
San Francisco General
Haight/Ashbury free clinic
California Pacific Medical Center
AIDs clinics/walks/events
Whatever you're interested in, the bay area has EVERYTHING, especially in SF. You'll find something.
