ED Snacks

Depends on how good I am. I love to drink that coconut water they have in the caf. My meals usualy concist of whatever slop that is supposed to resemble food they are laddling out in the caf. Pizza if the only thing really recognizable. There's always hagan daz lol. Everybody thinks I'm thin but I'm a fat person on the inside
And of course my life line: Sugar free Amp

I usually bring a pb&j and wasabi flavored almoonds. Plus I'll munch on whatever junk is available in the doctor's lounge.

This will out me to people where I trained, but beef jerky. Lots and lots of beef jerky (no carbs = no rebound hypoglycemia).

cliff bars, hummus and taboli wraps, shakeology, coffee, and lots of water; sometimes an apple or banana

Cheese-its, PB&J, apples, cherry tomatoes, hummus and wheat thins. Usually drink a thermos full of Crystal Light. Sometimes it's so busy I don't eat anything, then I gorge when I get home.

Blueberries, grapes, cherries, cherry tomatoes, carrots. I'll pack a sandwich if I have time, or left-over stir fry, but a lot of the time I just have time to snack so I try to keep it healthy. When I'm less organised, doughnuts and chips and whatever I can find in the lounge.
One shop where I work it has become a tradition for me to bring a big tub of ju-jubes when I'm there. Must go buy some tomorrow- there all day Sunday. Cheers,
M

Before i start my shift i get an iced coffee, then usually pack a pb&j and what ever else i can subsitute during my shift from the cafe. Got to love the to go section and sushi.

I usually avoid the lounge foods for the reason that most of the food there will be unhealthy. I eat crackers with peanut butter if I eat anything during a shift. Sometimes will only eat 3 crackers, but it will get me through the shift.

actually, the more I think about it, the best snack in-department snack in the ED where I work is Oreo cookies with peanut butter. Every morning at 7 and every evening at 9ish, they restock our cookies/crackers/etc and we all make mad dashes for the Oreos. A close second is the chocolate ice cream with peanut butter added to it. delicious!

I like the cashew bars from Lara Bar. And lots of WATER. When I stop taking patients I usually have time to munch on something more substantial. That's usually a premade salad from Trader Joe's.
