Edition of review books

Does the edition of Review books matter? I'm going to be an MS1, so if I buy books from 2004, will they be outdated 2 yrs from now?

You should probably go pick up the 2004 edition of First Aid. Aside from that, only buy review books that deal with subjects from your first year (I can't tell from your post if that is your intent or not). I waited until the beginning of each course to buy the respective review book, and everything seemed to work out for me. In any case, with the exception of First Aid, don't buy any second year review books until you actually take those courses.

I concur with Stinger. I'm betting there will be a new BRS Path and BRS Phy over the next two years because there is a lot (or maybe just some) info that needs to be put in the books. Path didn't have all the effects of cytokines and the Costanza's Physiology which she wrote 2 years after BRS has more info. I would say get first aid, then buy them right before class.

Most important area to be up to date in is Pharmacology as it is an area that changes the most with new drugs etc.

The new edition of BRS Behavioral Science is due 1/2005. Dr. Barbara Fadem, the BRS author, has recently published another concise book, Behavioral Science in Medicine ISBN: 0-7817-3669-2. It is very easy to read.

Hey Scott, is there going to be a new Lippincott's Pharmacology, the current one was published in 2000?
Also, is there going to be any new editions for the books in the High Yield series? Many of the high yield series are well over 4 years now...

I'd also be curious about the 2003 vs 2004 editions of first aid, as there are quite a few brand new 2003 editions on ebay right now, going for less than $10!

The new edition is about 100 pages longer. Here are the details on the new edition:

Each chapter begins with an overview that generally summarizes the topics to be covered in that chapter.
