I was thinking about doing EDP during the next cycle but I was blown away by the fact that you only apply to ONE school and you get the chance to apply to other schools by October 1st, which is way late.
How much more advantageous is EDP than applying early? For me, I'll be applying to around 15 schools, and I'll be sending out everything by the second week of June, so chances are that EDP is out of the question for me.
Also, is having your preliminary application out before the end of June more advantageous than having it out by August?

Really, just apply as early as possible. I, and many others, don't believe in EDP. It severely limits your choices. You can just apply early and still hear back early (~2 weeks after EDPers). It's Russian Roulette.
