Hi guys,
I'm applying for EHR incentive program for my dental office. I'm looking for an EHR certified Web/Cloud based dental management software. I want to store all info on the web, e.g dental x-rays, notes, etc. I have a gendex intraoral sensor now. Ideally, I want my sensor to be compatible with the new software.
Please share your thoughts with me Thanks

Jeff

Though not web based take a look at http://ksbdental.com
They are EHR certified. In my office I use an onsite server with removable hard drives for backup. However it would be no problem to configure a cloud based system for storing daily backups which in my office includes all pt history and radiographs (Kodak sensors) also my payroll and office accounting programs.

I have a couple of concerns with web/cloud based software. First you are dependent on the Internet connection for everything. No connection no history, X-rays, schedule etc and no way of uploading your daily treatment, payments and X-rays until service is restored. Second you are now obligated to every software change and pricing increase that your software company imposes (Google peach tree accounting and sage accounting software. Payroll module and annual upgrade must be purchased annually). Third assuming you want to change management software in the future how difficult or complicated (expensive) will conversion be.

Do your homework including service/maintainance contracts, data backup systems bridging software for your radiographs and possible redundancy if part of the hardware fails and unfortunately remember the phrase "buy once, cry once".

Check out "Dental EMR" at https://DentalEMR.com as they are a cloud-based dental practice management software.
Cloud is the way to go. Because if you go server-based, you can expect to spend an arm and a leg on hardware and infrastructure whereas with a completely web-based platform, you have none of those headaches as you won't need a server, you'll never have to worry about backups, won't have to hire a IT specialist, etc. With the cloud, it's all handled for you and I can tell you that I personally saved a lot of money (close to $30,000) going down this route with zero headaches. Few of my dental friends are server-based and they wish they did it right and went cloud. They're stuck with outdated and archaic technology and they encounter so many issues. With cloud, no issues at all. Cool thing about the cloud is that when there is a new version out, they release it automatically without you touching a thing. So sweet! I like "Dental EMR" because it's simple and easy to use for me and my staff with zero training needed. Their dental practice management software handles all the scheduling, patient charts, xrays, eprescriptions, treatment plans, billing, insurance claims and metrics on your office along with an in-app support system. They also have flexible pricing plans with no hidden fees as it's very transparent. What you see is what you get!

What do you do when the Internet goes down, dentalEMR salesperson?
