i interviewed jan 22

Einstein DOES reject post interview. I interviewed in early November and was placed on the waitlist too. Recently, I withdrew my name from the waitlist because I got into another school I liked better so I figured why take up someone's slot. Hopefully you guys/gals on the waitlist will get in. As of what I remember, they said that their waitlist is pretty active. I don't know when they start pulling from it though. These are all legitmate questions you can call and ask them about. Also, ask them if a letter expressing your interest in Einstein would help. I say that because some med schools don't like it. The best way to figure out if Einstein does or not is to be up front and honest when you call them and just ask them.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info Altaskier. And thanks for pulling your name from the waitlist. Many of us have just moved one step closer...

Im still waiting for an interview/rejection letter. Argh..

does anyone know if late interview would affect the chance of getting accepted?

AECOM is rolling right?

AE is rolling and they started sending out acceptances later January, I think. Someone on SDN also said that they accept a large amount, ~500, because they anticipate not everyone will matriculate. you might want to search SDN topics to see when AE will stop interviewing. that will give you a good idea as to when "late" interviews would be.

Howdy everyone.

I interviewed at AECOM back in December and was accepted in the January batch. In January they sent out atleast 180 acceptances to those who interviewed before Jan 15th. I think they wait and see how many of them reply with a check to hold a spot. I've heard that, in the past, AECOM will ultimately accept around 500-600 applicants. Now, I am not sure how much of those ultimately accepted are transitioners from the waitlist. I couldn't imagine them giving outright acceptances to more than 380-400. So, it appears as if the waitlist does have some significant movement. As far as post-interview rejections go, I do think they send them out b/c they interview somewhere around 1100 or something, right? That would make a ridiculously long waitlist if they didn't reject any of those 1100 or so. Sit tight, I still think they are accepting people on interviews (although they might be a bit more stringent on who they accept) and their waitlist will probably start moving shortly after may 15'ish. I wish you all the best of luck.

Legi,
go to interviewfeedback.com and look up the old Einstein replies...ther's a post there of someone who interviewed in April and was accepted (not waitlisted at all)in May. Good luck. I have found their office staff to be the nicest bunch of people I've ever dealt with.

I interviewed in feb and they mentioned that they put 200 people on the waitlist and then in may re-evaluate and then reject 100 people off the waitlist in may...it sounded crazy to me, why put them on the waitlist just to reject them later? (unless they are looking for people who are not really interested and will withdraw there application) But if you do want to go I would definately say send another update letter (with something substancial) and your interest...they did say that many people get off the waitlist

I copied these stats from USNews:

(Applied/Interviewed/Accepted/Enrolled)
Total: 6,431/1,489/556/180
In state: 1,303/429/178/76
Out of state: 5,128/1,060/378/104
Women: 2,886/657/278/94
Minorities: 792/149/56/22
International: 123/28/14/5

If you look at the in-state acceptance vs. enrollment, many students choose to go elsewhere. I'm assuming this is a factor of the cost. Also, for out of stater acceptances vs. enrollment, they may have chosen their state school or a school in NYC.

On a side note, I interviewed on 10/15 and was in the first batch of acceptances. I've been exchanging e-mails with my interviewer and she has only said that Einstein mailed out ~180 acceptances in January. Since then, they are on a rolling basis where they accept 1/3, waitlist 1/3, and reject the remaining 1/3. It should take 6-8 weeks for an acceptance, but if you're borderline, it maybe 8-10 weeks.

For those who haven't heard, Einstein is interviewing into early June. It takes a while to hear from them because someone on the admissions committee reads through your entire file before granting an interview. They are very forgiving on stats and look for something unique in your application.

I was fortunate enough to have a very warm and receptive interviewer. She looked at my entire file for about 40 minutes before we started. I was with her for over two hours and I missed the luncheon, so she took me out and we walked around campus. It really sold the school to me that someone would take their time out to do such a thing.

Good luck to everyone!
