I paid $40 for the old one...and i'm half way through it
not sure if I even need the new one.

Could someone confirm whether passages in new book are same as the old book or different?

I was JUST about to make a thread for this, but you beat me to it. Just bought my copy moments ago. Hopefully I can get through it before the July 8th MCAT. Mine should be here Monday. Couldn't afford to pay the 90 dollars for shipping. I hope its good because kaplan is just not cutting it right now.

Sorry if I was unclear. The 90 dollar shipping price was for like overnight air express shipping. I wanted to do that but I just submitted my primary application. So I just did the 10 dollar regular ground shipping. Sorry for the confusion.

someone posted on here the other day that they called EK and were told the passages were the same as the last edition.

seems like waste of money to buy the "new and improved" version. so the exams are longer, so what. if you really want to you can break them up so you are only doing 7 passages. whats important is that you have passages to practice with. you should be taking the AAMC which will give you exact number of passages and questions and its those verbal scores that you should be checkin your progress with.

I'm writing MCAT on july 18th and with the pace that I'm going through EK 101, it should be done by end of next week.

Could anyone confirm whether the passages in new book are same or different?😕
that is the only criteria for me to buy the CBT version.

It doesn't look like it... I had one person tell me it would be and then talked some people on here that were told it was that same stuff just in a new format.... so I e-mailed them again... and they confirmed it was just going to be old passages with a new format...

Yeah I had emailed them a while back and they told me it was the old stuff in a new format. Wouldn't that mean they cut out some questions too? Because if they are going to make 7-passage exams, using the existing passages (which in the current edition have either 6-7 questions each), they might have to cut out a question here and there.

Good thing this is my first occurance of using this material or else I'd be extremely bummed out by purchasing the new thing.
