I keep reading people talking about EK, but I tried it out and I'm consistently getting higher scores on that than AAMC tests. I get on EK around a 9 on avg and with AAMC its more oriented around a 6/7. I have around 3 weeks to improve from 6/7 to an 8/9 on the AAMC, does anyone know which book besides TPR or EK that is good for verbal. I mean I dont mind reading books, but will they help if I read a book for the next 3 weeks about 5 hours a day? Also which books are challenging and imitate the difficulty of the real AAMC?

I think that the consensus is that the best are EK 101 and TPRH Verbal Workbook. If you want additional AAMC passages, you can find some in their Official Guide to the MCAT. I think there's like the equivalent of one verbal tests' worth in there.

For verbal, the gold standard is the AAMC which provides the best material through their FLs and the Official Guide. EK and TPRH are runner ups. I doubt any company will make verbal material as well as the AAMC. However, compared to the other companies (BR and Kaplan), they're much better.

To Sn2ed,

I came across your blog on the MCAT and just wanted to express gratitude and respect to you. Your posts are one of the best step-by-step advice that I've ever seen. I have been following your study-plan for about a month and I am feeling internally satisfied and validated.

Just curious, if you don't mind me asking.. Are you a medical student, if so how did you score on your MCAT?

sincerely,

Looks like Don Draper created a new screen-name to try and get your score, SN2.
