So i was wondering...since everyone has been saying the bio passage on the real mcat seem harder than most of the practice exams and are somewhat more verbal based then straight facts, are the EK bio 1001 passages comparable to the real thing? There are some relativiely easy passages in EK, but i have spotted some tough ones. For those of you that used bio 1001 and have already taken the actual test, would you say they provide pretty good practice? thanks!

They're excellent practice no doubt. They do however seem to rely more on outside information than the actual MCAT (at least mine). The one I took on Aug 22nd required a lot more careful reading of the passage and the questions.

Its still worth doing. Helped me a lot to learn and practice the information. Its one thing to read the topics in the review book but another to get lots of practice reading passages.

I usually timed myself doing three passages and the standalones that came after them in 30 minutes. It ends up being a little longer than what you would get on the MCAT which is why its good practice to make sure you're able to do it in a timely fashion.
