Lecture 3, question 63

"which of the following is a mechanism for reproduction in Bacteria?"

Transduction
conjugation
binary fission
transformation

Answer is binary fission

I don't understand their explanation in that they say the other three choices are recombination mechanisms, which only eukaryotes undergo, but they introduced all these mechanisms as occurring in bacteria on page 67.

Thanks

The other three are ways that bacteria can exchange genetic information, and provide some sort of diversity to the genome, but the only Mechanism for Reproduction actually listed is binary fission, which results in a new bacteria.
