EK Online Study Group (interests?)

Anyone who has the EK review package want to make an online study group of some sort?

Through MSN (if only a few people decide to participate) or through another program such as IRC or Ventrilo (if more people are in).


I was thinking of assigning chapters, having each person read those chapters, and then getting online and discussing those particular topics.

This is mosltly because it forces us to read the chapters (most of us on here are lazy...atleast i am), lets us ask questions about the things we don't understand (EK is pretty vague and to the point, which is good, but can be bad if you haven't touched on that specific topic in school), and makes us better memorize the material (i find i retain stuff better after i explain them to others...it gets kicked into the long term memory..)

Ok so we have about ten people on board. A good number i think.


So do you guys want to start with chemistry?


How about the first 3 chapters of the chemistry booklet for this coming Thursday night?

That gives you about a day for each chapter (which i think is more than enough time).


Now the question is: what time Thursday?

I'm Going to set it at 5-8pm PST for now. If this does not work for any of you, let me know. If there are enough people who can't make it, we might be forced to change the time.

How about using IRC? We can just post the server and channel (can set your own) here and then anyone that wants to join can.

A good IRC client you can use is HydraIRC (www.hydrairc.com), or if you're using Firefox, you can get ChatZilla (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/16/). btw, you open chatzilla from Firefox's Tools menu. It's not a separate program.

How about using zirc.org for the server and ekreview as the channel name?

These would be the commands to join the channel
/server zirc.org [ENTER] (to connect to the server)
/join #ekreview [ENTER] (to enter the channel)

Hi there.. first post, don't check SDN as often as some people seem to.

I'm interested in the study group. I will try to drop by the IRC chat. I won't have all 3 Chemistry chapters done by then though (I've been spreading myself over Biol, Chemistry, Physics, Kaplan stuff, volunteering and work.. you know the drill).

lol, add three hours. So 8-11 for you.

You have to download the IRC client. Very easy to do. (there is a link to it above)

Then you click in the server and channel names above.

Sorry I'm late, I just read these posts. What nights do you meet on IRC. I visited once but no one was there. I also have all the AAMC tests with the exception of 9 (Which I would love if any one would like to trade?) I also have the Kaplan descretes and topical tests. All of these are on pdf. I have the hyperlearning Princeton review diagnostic tests in paper format but I don't have the answers anymore b/c my computer crashed a while back and I lost all files that I stupidly didn't back up. Does anyone have these answers to the PR dianostic tests 4911, 4921, and 4931.? I'm taking the MCAT this August although I haven't registered for it. I was registered for the April exam and chickened out b/c I was not ready (aka didn't study enough). I have the Examkraker series books, the Hyperlearning Princeton review series, and the Kaplan comprehensive review book. I have tons of study material but no time to study. The group didn't end up working out. I held a meeting a couple weeks ago and only 2 people showed up (out of about 15 interests). There is a forum we started for the group but that seems to be pretty inactive as well.


Maybe it's too early for people to be determined enough for something like this? i dunno.
