Trouble with 3 questions. I separated each question with a row of number signs.
#8 if using this link: http://www.scribd.com/doc/31065253/ExamKrackers-101-Passages-in-MCAT-Verbal-Reasoning-Book
Or #7 page 52 if using the 2nd edition.
Question: A "letter of gift" (line 32) would most likely be used when:
A. documentation of a donation was required
B. a donor wished to express a personal preference
C. the guidance of a trustee was requested
D. the founder wished to give some guidance
After reading paragraph 4, isn't it clear that the "letter of gift" is CREATED when the founder wishes to give guidance, but USED by the trustees later on? How is C not the correct answer? The correct answer is D.

#19 and #20 here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/31065253/ExamKrackers-101-Passages-in-MCAT-Verbal-Reasoning-Book
Or, #17 and #18 on page 55 if using the 2nd edition.
Question: For which of the following conclusions does the passage offer the least support?
A. Freud's theories were fanciful
B. Freud believed that men were the first to "tame" fire.
C. Freud believed that women were supposed to protect the hearth-fire.
D. Simone de Beauvior felt women were superior to men.
The question tells you that all 4 answer choices are conclusions. Why would you ever not believe the question stem? I picked D. Correct answer is C. The answer key says that a correct answer HAS TO BE a passage conclusion or conclusion that the passage specifically makes. Was there any way to know that before reading the answer key? This is a serious question. (I could have sworn that there was another question somewhere that did the exact opposite, saying that an answer was wrong because you assumed incorrectly that it had to be a passage conclusion...)

Question: On the basis of the passage, one can most reasonably infer all of the following except:
A. Freud believed that sex was man's primary motivation.
B. Freud apparently felt that nature was an antagonist.
C. Freud viewed a penis-to-penis contest as having homosexual implications.
D. Freud's ideas were quickly rejected by American psychotherapy.
This one might be simple. In the passage, I thought that Freud's use of the word, "homosexual," in the second paragraph meant, "same-sex," not having sex with the same sex. Doesn't that make sense for a scientific dude, especially if there's no other mention of same sex sex in the passage? I chose C because I thought that answer choice was twisting "homosexual" to mean something Freud didn't mean. Wouldn't a real MCAT question make that clear? Correct answer is D. (This one is probably the most obvious out of all 3. I was back and forth about posting it, but did so since I was also posting the other 2.)
The question I have with ALL VERBAL REASONING is, "How could I have known before reading the answer?" It's easy to just say, "Okay, I see their logic," after the fact, but it only counts if you can do that the first time. These can't possibly be as difficult as they seem.
