Elective at MSKCC

Hello there,
I (and everyone else ) would very much love to do an elective at MSKCC. Has anyone done it? If so, can you offer a piece of advice on how to get in; on whether to try to work around the online application and personally contact a particular faculty member.

I had no contact or special inside track. I applied via the route described on the website and created a mini-CV (research, board scores, etc). I was offered an elective, albeit outside of my requested months.

I applied via the standard route as well, without contacting any individual faculty. I got the dates I requested. Not sure if this makes a difference, but I submitted my application as soon as they opened the website and followed up regularly.

Also applied in a similar manner. Didn't find out I was accepted until the 1st of the month before my rotation. My suggestion is also to keep your schedule flexible if you truly want to try for this rotation.

Not yet. I applied a month ago and still waiting to hear back for confirmation.
