I am a pre med student that will be applying almost exclusively to D.O. programs. I would like to know from current students what schools allow their students to do the most elective rotations during third year and early fourth year, and what are the restrictions on what rotations you can do (if any)? BTW I will be applying for entry in 2007. Right now I am thinking about NYCOM, PCOM, OUCOM, MSUCOM, NSUCOM, LECOM, CCOM, and perhaps a few others. I would appreciate info on any school and particularly these schools that I have listed.

At LECOM you can do electives in anything you want where ever you want. It's up to you to set it up and get the rotating hospital to accept you and find your own housing. The only rotation that has to be with a DO is family practice in third year. All rotation slots are 4 weeks.

Third year - 3 elective slots.

Fourth year - 7 total medical selective, surgical selective, elective slots.

LECOM has international rotations or you can go anywhere in the US. It's really up to you.

Just wanted to clarify about LECOM (well, at least that's how it is in FL) -
3rd year -2 electives (4weeks each)
4th year - 4 electives (4 weeks each).
