For those in private practice...how many have electronic medical records?

Not academic institutions....I mean PP land.

We still have paper records. I wish we had EMR, as I had it in residency and I liked it after I got used to our system.

Furthermore, I believe that there is ample data out there to show that EMR increases billing. Just think about it: you lose a case record, you lose a bill. Hard to lose something stored in the computer.

But, I don't know if it's because the hospital is "too cheap" or just more afraid of change (re: the old "don't fix it if it ain't broke" mentality).

I would submit that the hospital really doesn't care about your billing....unless they are billing and collecting for your services.
