Anyone recommend any source containing EM topics in audio format to download for free (broke student here). I've seen stuff for sale on the ACEP website... Or if you guys have anything willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

audio digest also has some good lectures (some great, others less so...but overall pretty high quality)...this is not a free resource...however, check out your nearest med-school library to see if they have it on reserve... you may be able to borrow the CD free of charge.

EM residents who belong to EMRA get EMRAP for free. You might befriend one of your local EM residents to see if you could listen to their CD/IPOD lecture (because I would hate to endorse copying of the lectures without paying back the find EMRAP folks).

Seriously though, EMRAP rocks on the commutes.

Indeed it does. So, BTW, does it's sister programs EM Abstracts and Risk Management Monthly.

EM Abstracts (aka the Rick and Jerry Show) is also free for EMRA resident members.

Their strategy of giving crack to school children worked in my case. I graduated from residency and the first thing I did with my CME money was subscribe to their three products.

Take care,
Jeff

There are some good EM lectures for free on the itunes store podcast page. EMRAP is on there and some come with videos just in case you have an iphone or ipod to watch them on.

Albany Med has a number of materials up on the web and podcasting. It's all free. The audio is of mixed quality. Some good some not so good, but the content is all excellent.

For video lectures - www.aanet.org
Look for EMS and DEM lecture series. You'll be navigated to the page for real player downloads.

For podcasting - go to itunes, search under artist: Albany Medical Center.
There are around 150 lectures there under both EMS topics and EM topics. The audio is mixed quality but there is some good stuff there.

For podcasting - Univ of Iowa also has a good bit of topics with generally excellent audio quality, just not as many topics as Albany.

I second freeemergencytalks.net

I listened to them during my intern or 2nd year, several good ones on there. Last year, I think I was up late one night and possibly had one too many beers and ordered the NEMBR (National EM Board Review) course MP3 for a few hundred. Good purchase in hindsight, albeit pricey. Entertaining, fast paced, but good to listen to for broad overview and especially if you can pause and reference in a text or uptodate.

Emcrit.org has some good podcasts if it hasn't been mentioned yet. EMRap, of course, etc..

Lots of good suggestions already.
