I do realize this topic has come up a ton, but was curious is burnout more associated with the actual work of the EM doctor or the schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) Certainly burnout is becomming less of an issue with formal residencies in EM but I was just curious. Thanks

Having just worked 36 straight in my off-service month, I'm too burned out to answer your question.

You think I'm lovely? Aww..... 😳

Hmmm let's see...

Just finished a stretch of five 12 hour night shifts, seeing mainly stupid trolls with bull**** complaints, chronic conditions, or gangstas full of bullets, or grandma running (not walking) towards "The Light". And don't get me started on the pissed-I'm on call-private consultants full of sarcasm when they are not just outright hanging up on me.

I'm thinking my Powerball numbers this week should be 5, 12. 18, 33. 38. 54.

When they hit I'm walking.

But to answer your question, I'm an EM2 and I haven't experienced any signs of burn-out. I love my job.

Hmm... those numbers sound pretty good. Gonna have to give those a whirl on Cal Lotto.
